This was a very busy weekend!  I have a lot of pictures and a few videos to post, so I'll just let them speak for themselves.  Just to let you know though, I went out to the 515 Get Down IV Car Show and the Rascal Flatts concert at the Iowa State Fair.  Both were amazing, and I had such a great time!  Here are the pictures from the car show:

And here's a quick shot of me gettin' down in the circle.  It was the first time I've danced in quite a while!  It felt good though.

Those are the best pictures from the car show.  I mainly focused on mine, Jason's (Matrix), and Chris' (Evo) cars.  Chris won 1st Place for Best Import with his Evo, so congrats to him.  The show was fun!  It sucked that we had to leave early, but it couldn't be helped because we had to go to the concert!

The concert was great!  Eden's Edge, Eli Young Band, and Little Big Town opened for Rascal Flatts for the Changed Tour 2012.  It was the concert for the last night of the 10-day long Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.  The show was amazing!  I took a few videos of some songs, so check those out below.  I'm a big Rascal Flatts fan, so I was loving it!  The first video is of Little Big Town.  They did a cover of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way."  It was pretty cool.  The next two are Rascal Flatts performing "Banjo" and "Come Wake Me Up."  Check 'em out!!!

Mid August Update

Well it's been a bit since I updated, so shame on me...  I'll probably be updating quite a bit these coming weeks though, because we sure have a lot of events coming up!  First, I need to recap though!  July was fun, for our monthly event we went to Chicago for Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque du Soleil, and we also went to an autograph signing for Devin Hester (My favorite football player).  It was great spending the weekend over there.  We stayed at The Drake Hotel, up on the northern end of Michigan Ave.  Needless to stay since we were right on Michigan Ave. we did a lot of shopping.  So the Michael Jackson was AMAZING!  Cirque do Soleil definitely did Michael Jackson justice.  I won't give up too much, but I would have to say my favorite performances were Smooth Criminal/Dangerous, Is It Scary, and Jam.  If you are a fan of Michael Jackson at all you need to go and see this show!  Here's a pic of the ending picture when it was all said and done, since you can't take pictures during the show.

The next day we were in Chicago was the Devin Hester signing.  It sucked waiting in line, but it was worth it.  I got a helmet and jersey autographed.  Anyway here are the pictures of that!

So all in all Chicago was great.  It was our third time this year going.  We went for New Year's, the Bulls game in March, and now this.  We probably won't be back for a while, probably not until Derrick Rose gets back and we head to another Bulls game later next season.  My car has progressed slightly since the last time.  The Corksport midpipe is nice.  I really like the way that it sounds.  It does rattle a tiny bit at certain lower rpms because the hanger rubs against my crossmember brace, but I'll fix it later. It's still sweet though.  Since I installed that I also purchased a Polished Airbox Tray Replacement from Black Halo Racing to help clean up the engine bay for the upcoming car show.  I also found some yellow overlay for my fog lights to help spruce things up a bit.  They were pretty cheap so I figured why not?  I also got some center caps finally, and switched lug nuts to some new RAYS lug nuts.  I don't have updated pictures of the center caps and lug nuts though.  I'll have to take some at the car show.  Here's the other pics though:

At the beginning of this month Candy's nephew Reignan had his first birthday, so we had a big party for him.  It was an outdoor party, so while we were setting up we got hit by a storm.  As the storm was coming in I saw a quick photo opportunity with my friend Joey's Camry.  Here's a couple pics of that, and some of Reignan too....  :)

I wish I had my DSLR for those pics, but all I had was my iPhone 4...  They still turned out pretty good though!

This month also happened to be my birthday month also!  August 7th to be exact...  Candy spoiled me this year, and got me some amazing gifts!  First we went out and bought an iPad, and then she surprised me with a jersey autographed by Derrick Rose with an MVP '11 inscription!  Siiiiiiiiiiick!  It was a good birthday this year.

Last weekend we went out and celebrated too.  Took some friends out to Legend's to eat, and then hung out at my buddy's loft downtown.  It was a good time, and it was nice seeing old friends.  I've been seeing a lot of my friends lately, and it's been pretty fun.  The Iowa State Fair just started last week also, so we quite a few people last Friday (Eastside Night!).  We'll probably go there some more this weekend, plus we have a Rascal Flatts concert to go to there on Sunday for the closing day of the fair!  Sunday is going to be a busy day, because that is also the day of the car show!  Here's the flyer for it, but it should be a pretty good time.  I wish I could get some more stuff for my car before then, but it still looks pretty nice I think.  I won't win anything, but I wasn't really going for that.  Maybe next year after I put some more money into it.  A few friends of mine are entering with me, my buddy with his 2004 Toyota Matrix and another friend with his 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.  So this weekend will definitely be a busy one with getting the cars all cleaned and ready, and then all the events on Sunday.  Next weekend will be pretty fun also, because yesterday I just bought tickets to go see Lifehouse at Meskwaki Casino on the 25th!  I loooove Lifehouse!  They were here a few years ago, and we didn't go see them and I've regretted it ever since.  So here's my redemption!

Well I guess that's enough for today.  I'll update again later after the car show with tons of pictures, and probably a review of the Rascal Flatts concert (and maybe a video clip).  Catch ya later for now.
